Saturday April 10th
After a good night sleep I left the parking lot of Brentwood Baptist Church Tennessee and made my way South to Birmingham Alabama. It was only like a 3-4 hour drive. But as I crossed over from the State of Tennessee to the State of Alabama, this Saturn 1B Rocket at the Welcome Centre greeted me. Obviously I thought, these would be the pictures for my Daily Blog today.
When I woke up this morning I picked up a voice message from someone in our church who the Lord had woken up in the middle of the night. This person went on to pray, well really cry out to the Lord in support of this trip and myself – obviously with a focus on what the Lord wants to do.
It was so encouraging to get this call. These are the kinds of “breakthrough prayers” I believe will make a difference on this trip. I mean I am praying all the time when I have a spare moment and of course much when I am driving. For some reason again, as I was driving this morning, the Lord brought me to tears as I was listening and worshipping, thinking about life, through the songs on my iPod.
But like the Lord did to this one individual in our church, I pray the Lord does this to many in our church – actually to many in Eastern Canada and in the CNBC all across Canada who may be reading this Blog. I pray we allow the Lord to make us desperate. And how we pray and when we pray is a sign of how desperate we are for God to show up in mighty ways in our churches and in our situation in Canada.
Again for me, this trip is my personal attempt to live by radical faith and be a part of the solution for our vision for Canada. And yes – faith has to cost something. This is costing me something. One week into this I am missing my wife and kids a lot, maybe even more so knowing I won’t see them for another 3 weeks. But at least praise the Lord for “Skype”!
I mean just think of these “rocket boosters” – I mean can you imagine the power and the thrust in those suckers to lift this baby up – I mean way way up in the sky into space!? Well prayer really can be that way! But if only one person or two prays, it would be like just one of those rocket boosters igniting. The thing wouldn’t go anywhere. But when all His people pray, cry out to God, whether in a church context like at Sequoia, or nationwide like in our Convention, then I believe it would be like all those rocket boosters igniting and there would be POWER!
Com’on Sequoia Church – com’on CNBC in Canada – let’s all pray and cry out to God and see Him bring about the radical provision of $16M for our great harvest work in Eastern Canada!
Amen Rick. May your step of faith be the inspiration needed to fire our "prayer rockets" individually and corporately. Come on everyone!!
ReplyDeleteAmen to that!
ReplyDeleteBTW everyone ... I have just learned how to respond to the comments you've been sending me. I am still a rookie at this "blogging thing"!
