Saturday April 24th
Have you ever been a driver and a passenger all at once? Well today was the big drive from Viera Florida to Augusta Georgia. It’s a good 8-hour drive. I just left my pastor / friend from Viera after going to the neighboring wetlands of his church and yes – I saw at least 3 crocks – small ones though, but nevertheless 3 crocs – and all kinds of birds. Jay was really hoping on being able to show me a big one!
Anyways back to “Driving With Jesus”. As I was driving, I was literally imagining Jesus being my passenger. Even though I am indeed driving, but really, Jesus is really in the driver ‘s seat and I am simply asking Him to continue to show me the way during this one-month trip. There’s lots of time to pray when you’re by yourself on an 8-hour drive. It was a wonderful day!
I did hit some rain heading into Georgia. I knew there were going to be thunderstorms in the area. Little did I know tornado season was hitting the South again with a deadly one in Mississippi!
As I head into my final week, of hopefully not too many tornadoes, I must admit, I am kind of tired. I’ve been tired for the last few days. Maybe this camping in the RV for 3 weeks now is getting to me. Maybe it’s just the uncertainty of it all. I mean faith is an interesting thing. Living fully for the Lord is an interesting thing. You can’t always be on the mountain tops and feel fully alive. Sometimes you’re in the valleys and feeling a little confused, lost, nervous, anxious, etc – ie whatever feelings you feel in the valleys of life. But I then I remembered when I was at the Marble Retreat in Colorado in Spring 2009, that sometimes the valleys of life are the best places to be. It’s where you learn the most about God and about yourself. And actually, the view from the valley ain’t that bad. Really, from the valley, you look up and the hope for tomorrow can be really promising.
So that’s it. As Lloyd Robertson of CTV Canada always say when he ends his news broadcast, “That’s The Kind Day It’s Been Around Here”!
PS: I know you are wondering where’s the picture of the crocs – sorry – I don’t have my camera with me. Maybe tomorrow when I upload!
