Tuesday April 6th
Have you seen the movie “RV” with Robin Williams? It’s a pretty funny movie. No I am not driving that big of an RV but I do have to every few days go and empty out the “black water” and “grey water” as well as get some fresh water because you simply don’t get any “hook-ups” when you are parked in a church parking lot, which will be my plan tonight when I arrived in Brentwood Tennessee.BTW: I was almost forgetting what I was asking the Lord to give me everyday – some kind of little sign He’s with me and behind this crazy trip of mine. Well He did it again today in a very unexpected and unusual place.
Back to the movie of Robin Williams! Well somewhere before arriving at destination I was looking for RV parks where I could go “on-load and refresh.” I know it sounds bad to say it that way but you know me – just say it the way it is. First KOA Park – well I miss the exit. Then the next park – well it was off 10 miles to the left of the Interstate. Then the next exit I get off it’s only 0.4 miles off the highway, ie near this “Mammoth / Dinosaur” attraction. So I pull in this RV Park but guess what – the office is closed. Yet the owner comes out and is willing to help. I tell him I’m a rookie at this – never done this before – but I need to “on-load and refresh”. Well I do it and you would be proud of me. What happens to Robin Williams did NOT happen to me! Nothings flying, if you know what I mean!
But the guy looks at the RV and sees the “publicity trim” and so he asks me what is this “Luke 11 ASK Tour”. So I tell him I’m from Canada – with then a very small nut-shell of the story. I went to pay and he says – “no worries, I’m a Christian and I know what the ministry life is all about, so no charge and God bless”. I gave him my business card and an ECMC Brochure and asked him to pray for my mission / journey. This encounter was my 4th sign. God is good!
Well in close for today, I am just about to read “Day 4” in my “One Month To Live” book. I mean I believe God is affirming and given me signs all over the place. But because this Daily Blog Day #4 is already getting long enough, let me pause now and get back to you tomorrow ref something I read from that book. The teaser is this though: “As I look at life from a God-perspective, I begin to realize that the life of faith that everyone calls ridiculous is the only reasonable way to live”. (p. 14 by Kerry & Chris Shook).
The next few days will be busy here. I have lots of contacts to “ask, seek and knock” here between Brentwood Baptist Church; LifeWay; SBC Executive Office; and Tennessee Baptist Convention Offices. Please keep praying for me and that God’s glory will greatly be revealed!
Till tomorrow …
