Day #15 - "Putting The Pieces Of The Puzzle Together" (Montgomery, Al)

Saturday April 17th

Well the actual half of this “crazy Luke 11 one-month faith road trip” comes to an end tonight. Two full weeks since I have left have gone by! Two more weeks (and possibly a few extended days) left to go!

I thought I needed a little bit of a break today. So I slept in a bit. Then I got up to a voice message calling me to play golf. So I responded favorably to the invitation! (they didn’t have to twist my arm). No “rubbing it in” for folks up in Canada but we were in the mid-80s today and everything is in full bloom here down South.

Tonight I had a wonderful supper – my first full hot-meal since I have left. I have been doing a partial fast. Let me tell you, it’s funny, when you are hungry, how carrots, broccoli and cauliflower can taste so good and be so filling! But again, today was a bit of a “day-off” as I felt I needed a break to simply enjoy today, as well as a good meal at Olive Garden.

But let me tell you, I do believe the Lord is “Putting The Pieces Of The Puzzle Together”! For example, I had a wonderful meal tonight with this couple. I believe tonight was another of those “divine appointments”. And this “divine appointment” could lead to two other “divine appointments” that could end up, Lord willing and calling, to the fulfillment of the Luke 11 ASK Tour Vision!! Yep that’s right!!! God was all over this supper get-together tonight and this wonderful couple TOTALLY understand this crazy step of faith and the great need for Eastern Canada and how indeed $16M over the next 3 years would be an incredible foundation for the work to be done for the next 10 years for 50% of Canada’s population as well as to the most unreached people group in North America! I mean that is the scope we are talking about and I’ve got to believe with all my heart – I mean that’s why I have gone on this crazy trip – that the Lord has in mind Kingdom Investors who will be able to leverage this faith work through the vision of the Eastern Canada Mission Centre.

Sequoia Church – anyone reading this blog – if there’s ever been a time to pray earnestly and cry out to the Lord – NOW would be the time for these “divine appointments”!

As I close for another day, and speaking of “Putting The Pieces Of The Puzzle Together”, THANK YOU so much all of you at Sequoia Church who have been sending encouraging cards at home to my wife and Zach & Ally. I heard each card has a piece of a puzzle. I guess there is a story, a puzzle that is coming together. So like I said in my weekly Pastor’s Corner this week – thank you all at Sequoia for your emails, cards, comments on the blog, etc – you have all been so encouraging to me, and my family. We truly appreciate it!

Remember – this is not just my journey of faith – it’s for all of us!!!!

  1. What about "Helping the True North be strong and free" - True North - ie Canada, strong - meaning strong in the Lord and free meaning, free from sin because of the reality of Jesus. Obviously this ties in to our anthem. Anyway - my two cents. Thanks for blogging Rick. Keep trusting Him - He is faithful. Blessings, Ryan

  2. Indeed! Time to write a new song! I love being in the USA and seeing the amazing things God is doing here but the more and more I am convinced of what God needs to be doing in Canada. We just need more leaders who will stick it out and persevere and believe God for great things!
